Sparkling wines were made in England as long ago as 1660. On 17th December 1662, Englishman Christopher Merret presented a paper to the Royal Society on how to ‘render wines sparkling’ more than 30 years before the French made their first sparkling Champagne. Camel Valley Pinot Noir Brut (75cl) is bottle fermented and rendered sparkling using the ‘traditional Merret method’ of 1662…and is a really pretty pink!
Godminster Vintage Organic Cheddar (400g) an organic cheddar with no preservatives and made using a recipe over 70 years old. This beautifully presented heart-shaped cheese is carefully matured for over 12 months and covered in a burgundy wax that keeps the cheese fresher and creamier for longer. This food grade wax, certified by the Soil Association, removes the need for nasty plastic packaging.
