The tastiest fish is the one you have caught yourself and we can vouch for that. Down here at River Cottage the team have mixed fishing abilities ranging from beginner to hardened all weather sea dog! Recently we have found the perfect rods so we thought we would make them available to you too. Both practical and easy to use, they are telescopic for easy storage and transport.

The beach caster we use is a Shakespeare XCEDE 12" telescopic rod and comes complete with a Shakespeare XCEDE front drag reel and line. The beauty of a telescopic rod is that it is compact to transport and this applies more to large beach casting rods than any other type. The Shakespeare rod combines this practicality with quality.
