Looking for easy cooking activities for kids? This course is designed for you and your child to learn and have fun together in the kitchen with River Cottage chefs. Held during the school holidays, it’s a perfect opportunity to get kids hands-on with food, learning where it comes from and picking up some essential kitchen safety skills.
Your child will enjoy making dough and baking a farmhouse loaf, as well as learning to create pizza dough from scratch. They’ll build their own pizza, including making the tomato sauce, and everyone—grown-ups included—will tuck into their creations for lunch. For those with a sweet tooth, there’s a baking session where kids will discover how seasonal vegetables can be delicious in cakes, with treats like beetroot brownies made from fresh produce from the garden.
In the afternoon, the focus shifts to preparing a family favourite. The recipe will vary depending on the freshest ingredients of the day, but expect a comforting dish like cottage pie or homemade lasagne with freshly made pasta. Throughout, we’ll incorporate tips on how to grow vegetables at home in pots to inspire your own seasonal cooking at home.
At the end of the day, you’ll take your creations home to impress friends and family with your newfound skills.
PLEASE NOTE: Each ticket is for one child and one adult. Please enter the child’s name in the attendee details, and include the guardian’s name and any dietary requirements in the dietary information box.
