Experience Cooking and Dining in One Perfect Day at River Cottage

Experience life at River Cottage HQ with a relaxing afternoon and evening alongside our gardeners and chefs. It’s a unique opportunity to explore both the cookery school and farm in one day, discovering the importance of seasonal and ethical eating, before indulging in a delicious evening feast.

Start with a light bite and hot drink, then get hands-on making River Cottage’s famous farmhouse loaf. After a tour of the farm, you’ll create a wood-fired pizza and prepare for your evening feast, all while enjoying a glass of fizz.

End the day with a seasonal cocktail and a 3-course feast, featuring the starter you helped make.

Is this course suitable for me?  This course isn’t suitable for all allergies and dietary requirements. However, it is suitable for vegetarians. We do offer other courses that cater to gluten-free and vegan diets. We recommend this course for participants aged 12 and up. Under-16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. ARRIVE AT RIVER COTTAGE

Your River Cottage adventure begins as you’re greeted at the top of the hill at noon. Take a leisurely 10-15 minute stroll down the pathways, soaking in the stunning valley views as you make your way to the farm—it's the perfect way to kick off the experience!

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME

Meet your host and kick off the day with a warm cup of tea or coffee, paired with a delicious treat straight from the kitchen.

SESSION ONE

Step into the cookery school and start crafting your bread dough alongside your expert River Cottage chef for the day.

SESSION TWO

Next, you’ll head out into the grounds with a River Cottage gardener, hand-picking fresh vegetables for your dinner. Afterward, you’ll plant seeds to take home, using all the tips and tricks shared by our expert garden team to help them thrive.

SESSION THREE

After a tour of the farm, you’ll use part of your dough to craft mouthwatering wood-fired pizzas, perfect for a tasty snack before the main event. Then, take a well-deserved break!

SESSION FOUR

Next, dive into the bread-making session, where our chefs will share expert tips on shaping and baking. With our classic River Cottage farmhouse bread recipe, you’ll be creating perfect, home-baked loaves every time.

SESSION FIVE

After your break, we’ll pour you a glass of fizz, and you’ll get hands-on creating your starter, picking up new tips and techniques from your expert River Cottage chef.

PRE-DINNER COCKTAIL

Now, sit back and relax as the River Cottage team whips up a specially crafted seasonal cocktail just for you.

DINNER

Finally, sit down with your fellow guests and enjoy a delicious three-course seasonal feast, featuring the starter you helped prepare earlier.

DEPARTURE

As the day winds down, you'll head back up the hill at 9pm, proudly carrying your River Cottage loaf, seed tray, and gardeners' info pack to take home.
