  1. Richard

Hard to fault. I could have carried on for another couple of days.

  2. Loveday

“We really enjoyed the course. It was fun, informative and exactly on my wavelength regarding sustainability. Connor, Hugh and Chiara were all excellent teachers with lots of interesting things to say.”

  3. Kenny

“Connor, Chiara and Sean were all brilliant as they were the staff I interacted with the most. However, all the kitchen staff, including Dan, Bob and Luther were also so welcoming. Izzy was great as the daily chauffeur to avoid the slippy hill (I did experience the mud slide for myself). Hugh was also very engaging on the morning we spent with him.”

  4. Jeanette

Great food and all fresh and local, fabulous staff, we picked up plenty of tips

  5. Diana

“Our chef teacher was enthusiastic, friendly and very helpful and informed. I love cooking and I really enjoyed myself. However long you’ve been cooking you can always learn new things and the dishes we made were all delicious.”

  6. Richard

Connor and Chiara were truly excellent

One tiny thing – I would have liked to have had a notebook or some reference materials while we were there. I forget things very quickly and I am not sure if the emailed information will have all the detail I want. There is a possible marketing opportunity – you could have some branded hardback ‘Kitchen and Garden’ notebooks divided into say 5 sections (ie could be used for Meat/Fish/Bread/Veg/Other). These could be given to people on courses and/or sold in the shop.

  8. George

Brilliant chef for the day, it was amazing thankyou, and really appreciate the hard work and effort that must go on behind the scenes everyday to organise all you do, as well as to do the day itself thankyou.

  9. Julian

“Conner was an great communicator, clearly a knowledgeable cook and great teacher.
It was an honour to meet and talk with Hugh, what a lovely passionate chap.
For her age and Italian background Chiara was an inspiration, River Cottage is very lucky to call her Head Chef.”

  10. Zoe

Well organised, relaxed, great environment to learn – I enjoyed the course and it was inspiring too!

  11. Louise

Overall, I really enjoyed the 4 day cookery course. I learnt so much. Please thank the chefs – my partner really enjoyed the bacon that I bought home! I really enjoyed the technical skills taught and how to source better ingredients from the meat, fish and bread days. The garden tour was a highlight of the veg day. I took away so many notes and things to look up!
