Join Nick Phillips, renowned forager and local mushroom grower, for a fungi-filled six-course feast at River Cottage. The menu, crafted by Nick and our talented chef team, celebrates the best seasonal ingredients from our kitchen garden and the surrounding fields and woodlands.

Dine in the rustic charm of our 18th-century threshing barn, where Nick will introduce each course and share its story. In line with our SLOW ethos (Seasonal, Local, Organic, and Wild).ย Each course celebrates the finest seasonal ingredients, bringing out the true flavours of the land with every bite.

This event is also part of the Taste East Devon Festival!

Is This Event Suitable for Me?

We can accommodate certain food intolerances and allergies at our dining events. Please inform us of any dietary requirements when making your reservation. We can cater to vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian diets, and allergies (dairy, gluten, nuts, shellfish), as well as to pregnant guests. However, we cannot cater to dislikes or dietary restrictions that might compromise our ethos or the quality of the meal.

ARRIVE

You'll be greeted at the top of the hill and begin your River Cottage experience with a 10-15 minute walk along scenic pathways down to the farm, giving you the chance to soak in the stunning views of the valley.

WELCOME

Head to the courtyard, where you'll be welcomed with a drink, then take a stroll through our kitchen garden before settling into our threshing barn for a 19:00 start. Our team will begin serving drinks from 18:30 onwards.

CHEF'S INTRODUCTION

As you settle in, Nick and the River Cottage chefs will introduce the menu, sharing insights into our philosophy, the provenance of the ingredients, and how the dishes are prepared.

MAIN EVENT

Youโ€™ll enjoy six courses featuring the finest local and seasonal produce, showcasing the best that the wilderness has to offer.

TO FINISH

After the meal, feel free to take a leisurely stroll back up the hill to walk off your indulgent supper. For those who prefer, weโ€™re happy to offer a ride in one of our farm Land Rovers.

DRINKS

We source our drinks with the same care as our food. Our extensive drinks list features our own River Cottage range of organic ciders, beers, and kombuchas, alongside a carefully curated selection of mostly organic and biodynamic wines. If you're looking for recommendations, our team will be happy to suggest the perfect pairings for the day's menu, as well as a seasonal cocktail or two. Just ask when they come around to take your drink orders.
