Join Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall for a fantastic four-course feast that celebrates the best of seasonal produce.
Hugh has personally curated this special evening event to give just 40 guests some quality time with him, as well as a fine feast to celebrate the best of the season.
Hugh will be there to greet you as you receive your welcome drink and are served canapés in the garden or cook school. It’s a great chance to get your books signed by Hugh and snap a few photos together. We’ll have a selection of his books available for purchase, but feel free to bring your own along!
After your canapés, head to the barn where Hugh will share his philosophy of food, his thoughts about the season, and what’s happening at River Cottage. You’ll also have a chance to ask him your questions.
The evening’s menu and ingredients will then be introduced by one of our chefs, who teach in the cookery school, and your delicious four-course meal will be served.
Hugh will return to the dining room during your meal to chat with guests and say goodnight. Your ticket includes a welcome drink, two canapés, a four-course feast prepared by our chefs, followed by homemade petit fours. Throughout the evening a selection of organic wines, ciders, beers, kombuchas and soft drinks can be bought at the bar.
With just 40 tickets available, this is a really special evening where everyone gets some one-on-one time with Hugh. There are only a few dates each year, and we are confident it’s one of the best celebrity chef dining experiences in the UK. You will be met at the top of the hill by our car park. From here you will stroll down the scenic track to the heart of the farm - with its 17th-century farmhouse, livestock and extensive kitchen gardens.
You'll enjoy a welcome drink and canapes on arrival and there's time, if you wish, to explore the kitchen garden and your surroundings.
As you settle in the barn for the evening, there will be a short talk from Hugh about the joys of the season and what is happening in the world of River Cottage. There will be time for you to ask Hugh questions before he hand overs to our Head Chef who will talk you through the menu and explain the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.
You’ll be treated to a four-course menu of fantastic local and seasonal produce, featuring recipes from Hugh's books.
After dinner you’ll unwind with coffee and petits fours, before heading back up the hill.
This dining event is run from River Cottage HQ on the Dorset/Devon borders. Full address details of HQ will be provided once you have booked.

This event is for guest aged 13 and over. Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. We put these guidelines in place for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests.

Dietary accommodations we can make include those for vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian diets, those who are pregnant, and those with dairy, gluten, nut or shellfish allergies (we recommend you bring your epi pen). However, we cannot cater to dislikes or to any dietary restrictions that we feel may compromise our ethos or high standard of our menus.
