Join Hugh in our beautiful 18th century threshing barn for a fantastic four-course feast that showcases the finest produce of the season.
Hugh will join you for a welcome drink and canapes in the yurt or cookery school (depending on the weather), where he will be happy to sign books, and have pictures taken with you. (A selection of Hugh’s books are always on sale but you are welcome to bring yours with you as well.)
You will then take your seats in the barn for a short talk from Hugh about the joys of the season and what is happening in the world of River Cottage. There will be time for you to ask Hugh questions, before he introduces the menu for the evening, highlighting the provenance of key ingredients. The River Cottage team will then serve your feast.
Hugh will return to the dining room (usually before your main course) to catch up with you before saying a final goodnight.
Tickets for this exclusive evening include a welcome drink with two canapes, a four-course meal, plus home-made petit fours.
With only 40 tickets available to ensure everyone gets some time with Hugh, this very special seasonal event has limited dates throughout the year. Hosted personally by Hugh and centered around a fantastic seasonal meal planned by Hugh and the team, it is served in the beautiful River Cottage barn.

You will be met at the top of the hill by our car park. From here you will stroll down the scenic track to the heart of the farm - with its 17th-century farmhouse, livestock and extensive kitchen gardens.
You'll enjoy a welcome drink and canapes on arrival and there's time, if you wish, to explore the kitchen garden and your surroundings.
As you settle in the barn for the evening, there will be a short talk from Hugh about the joys of the season and what is happening in the world of River Cottage. There will be time for you to ask Hugh questions before he hand overs to our Head Chef who will talk you through the menu and explain the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.
You’ll be treated to a four-course menu of fantastic local and seasonal produce, featuring recipes from Hugh's books.
After dinner you’ll unwind with coffee and petits fours, before heading back up the hill.

This event is for guest aged 13 and over. Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. We put these guidelines in place for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests.

Dietary accommodations we can make include those for vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian diets, those who are pregnant, and those with dairy, gluten, nut or shellfish allergies (we recommend you bring your epi pen). However, we cannot cater to dislikes or to any dietary restrictions that we feel may compromise our ethos or high standard of our menus.
