Join us for an exclusive lunch just for Devon Life magazine readers! Enjoy a three-course meal crafted from the freshest seasonal ingredients, hand-picked from our kitchen garden and polytunnels. Chiara Tomasoni will present each dish, guiding you through the inspiration behind them before you dive in. The experience also includes he opportunity to explore the gardens and a seasonal welcome drink.

The long table setup invites lively conversation as you share delicious food with fellow guests in our charming 18th-century threshing barn. Your chef will introduce each dish, showcasing the finest local produce from the South West.

We follow the SLOW ethos—Seasonal, Local, Organic, and Wild—celebrating the seasons with every dish. Our award-winning chefs ensure every bite bursts with flavour.

Your day

Arrive

You’ll be greeted at the top of the hill and begin your River Cottage experience with a 10-15 minute walk down the scenic pathways to the farm, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the stunning valley views.

Welcome

Head to the courtyard where you'll be greeted. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed with a seasonal cocktail, then have a wander around our kitchen garden before taking your seats in our threshing barn for an approximate 12:30pm start. Our team will start serving drinks from 12 onwards.

Chef's Introduction

As you settle in, your Chiara will introduce the menu and tell you more about our philosophy, the food’s provenance and how the dishes have been prepared.

Main Event

You’ll be treated to three courses of fantastic local and seasonal produce, planned on the day to showcase the freshest and the best.

To Finish

At the end of service feel free to take a stroll back up the hill to walk off the indulgent lunch or for anyone who needs it, we can happily give you a ride in one of our farm Land Rovers.

Drinks

We source our drinks as judiciously as our food. Our extensive drinks list will be available for you to try our own River Cottage range of organic Ciders, Beers and Kombuchas, and a carefully curated wine list of mostly organic and biodynamic wines. If you want some direction from our team, there's bound to be some suggested gems that pair perfectly with the days' menu and a seasonal cocktail or two, do ask them when they come around to take your drinks orders.

Suitability

This event is for guest aged 13 and over. Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult. We put these guidelines in place for the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our guests.

Allergy Advice

We can accommodate some food intolerances and allergies at our dining events, providing that these are mentioned when you make your reservation. Dietary accommodations we can make include those for vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian diets, those who are pregnant, and those with dairy, gluten, nut or shellfish allergies (we recommend you bring your epi pen). However, we cannot cater to dislikes or to any dietary restrictions that we feel may compromise our ethos or high standard of our menus.
