A River Cottage Seasonal Dining Experience in Devon
We pride ourselves on blazing the trail in farm-to-plate dining in the UK. This five-course feast, created from the freshest seasonal ingredients sourced from our kitchen garden, farm, polytunnels, and our favourite local growers.
You will dine in our stunning 18th-century threshing barn, where our chefs will introduce the menu and share the story of the provenance behind it. Each dish showcases the finest produce, following our SLOW ethos of celebrating all that is Seasonal, Local, Organic, and Wild.
See a sample menu here but please note that every experience is unique and shaped by the seasons. Our menus are finalised on the morning of the event, so we can use the very best ingredients available to us on the day.

Planning a gathering of 10 or more? Ask about our private dining packages for special occasions.
Is this event suitable for me? We can accommodate some food intolerances and allergies at our dining events, providing that these are mentioned when you make your reservation. Dietary accommodations we can make include those for vegan, vegetarian or pescatarian diets, those who are pregnant, and those with dairy, gluten, nut or shellfish allergies (we recommend you bring your epi pen). However, we cannot cater to dislikes, or to any dietary restrictions that we feel may compromise our ethos or high standard of our menus. Great food, perfectly cooked and presented, well organised.
We all said how much we liked each course. It was a lot of food, but not too much. I liked the story that was woven from the local land, local suppliers and what was in season back to curation of menu.
“Our chef teacher was enthusiastic, friendly and very helpful and informed. I love cooking and I really enjoyed myself. However long you’ve been cooking you can always learn new things and the dishes we made were all delicious.”
Better than a similar experience in Sparkford, simply because you’re not as packed in. Table ambience was lovely.
