Your day

12:30 - 15:00

Arrive

You’ll be greeted at the top of the hill and then wander down the scenic track to the heart of the farm. Along the way, you'll pass the charming 17th-century farmhouse, meet our friendly livestock, and explore the extensive kitchen gardens. It’s the perfect introduction to life at River Cottage.

Welcome

Head to the courtyard for a warm welcome, then take a leisurely stroll around our kitchen garden before settling into our cosy threshing barn for the evening.

Chef's Introduction

Once you're seated in the barn, our chef will guide you through the menu, sharing insights into our philosophy, as well as the provenance and preparation of each seasonal dish.

Main Event

You’ll enjoy a three-course menu featuring the finest local and seasonal produce, showcasing the very best of what the region and the season have to offer.

To Finish

Enjoy a final tea or coffee before heading home. If you’d like to walk off the indulgent lunch, feel free to take a stroll back up the hill. And for those who’d prefer a lift, we’d be happy to offer a ride in one of our farm Land Rovers.

Drinks

We source our drinks with the same care and attention as our food. Our extensive drinks list features our own River Cottage range of organic ciders, beers, and kombuchas, along with a carefully curated selection of mostly organic and biodynamic wines. If you're after some guidance, our team will be happy to recommend the perfect pairings for the day's menu, along with a seasonal cocktail or two—just ask when they come around to take your order.
