Gather your loved ones and join us at River Cottage for a lunch embracing the best of the season.
Our lunches are leisurely affairs, featuring three courses of the season’s finest food, set against the breathtaking backdrop of River Cottage HQ. So come, relax and explore the idyllic surroundings and enjoy a delicious lunch fresh from the River Cottage kitchen with your friends and family.
There are no menus, our chefs make the most of the season’s produce, harvesting directly from the abundant walled kitchen garden and plundering the spoils of the polytunnels. They create a daily three course menu that incorporates the most delicious dishes from the homegrown and local seasonal ingredients available.
Before your meal begins, our chef will explain what is being served, a little bit about where the food came from and how it has been prepared. All you need to do is sit back and soak up the atmosphere.
We are internationally renowned for creating a constantly changing menu inspired by our SLOW ethos of ingredients that are Seasonal, Local, Organic and Wild: plants, meat and fish that have been foraged, grown, raised and caught either right here on the farm, or by nearby farmers, growers and artisans who share our passion for the finest provenance. Two of these organic growers, Trill Farm and Haye Farm, are our neighbours.
We welcome children of all ages to our lunches at River Cottage, with reduced-price tickets for under-10s. Please purchase an adult ticket for children aged 10 and over. If you have a little one and would like a highchair please let us know, even if they are not eating.
We kindly request you book for your entire party in one transaction so we can seat you together.

You will be met at the top of the hill by our car park. From here you will stroll down the scenic track to the heart of the farm - with its 17th-century farmhouse, livestock and extensive kitchen gardens.
Head to the courtyard where you'll be greeted, then have a wander around our kitchen garden before taking your seats in our threshing barn.
Once seated in the barn, your chef will talk you through the menu and share more about our philosophy as well as the provenance and preparation of our seasonal dishes.
You will be treated to a three course menu of fantastic local and seasonal produce showcasing the best the region and season has to offer.
Just time for a tea or coffee, before heading home. Feel free to take a stroll back up the hill to walk off the indulgent lunch or for anyone who needs it, we can happily give you a ride in one of our farm Land Rovers
We source our drinks as judiciously as our food. Our extensive drinks list will be available for you to try our own River Cottage range of organic Ciders, Beers and Kombuchas, and a carefully curated wine list of mostly organic and biodynamic wines. If you want some direction from our team, there's bound to be some suggested gems that pair perfectly with the days' menu and a seasonal cocktail or two, do ask them when they come around to take your drinks orders.
This dining event is run from River Cottage HQ on the Dorset/Devon borders. Full address details of HQ will be provided once you have booked.
